Hi Lynn,

Thanks for reading. Glad you're getting some value. That was my goal all along. I've heard from quite a few people that are reading them everyday, which is great. It's more fun for me.

I have some great articles planned for the last 7 or 8 emails...stay tuned!

Hi Christine,

Thanks for sharing. I really hate this sort of stuff because it reflects badly on the industry as a whole. Sorry you had to go through that. You're going to just fine without their help! Just keep reading my blog... ; ) Oh, and make sure you're telling people about your experience so they don't have to go through it as well!

Thanks for reading and glad you liked it.

Hi Conor,
I really liked reading today's article since it expresses exactly my current experience with extreme fitness. I joined extreme fitness beginning of this year, it was convenient since it is 5 mins away from my house but what really made me decide to join was the fact that they explained that i will have a personal trainer assess me and will let me know exactly how to work out and eat well to reach my goals. I wasnt worried about the nutritien part much because i really like to follow a healthy eating plan but i have worked out over the years and I have benefitted but not as much as i hoped since some target areas are not really affected by my workout (especially my belly area). So it was a great idea to me that finally someone could tell me exactly how to workout without having to pay so much extra for personal training.
So on the assessment day, they matched me with a very arrogant 20 year old trainer who instead of really discussing my needs, ended up showing pictures of his abs on his cellphone. Yes we spent an hour and a half in the assessment but i the quantity of information that i benefited was = 0. He told me that i would have to drop my fat percentage to 20% but later, when meaured i turned out to have 16.5% fat percentage and he didnt know what to say to that. When we started working out, he literally told me nothing, he was asking me questions which was fine because i thought he wants to understand how i was working out before but the problem is he never gave me answers. By the end of the assessment, i didnt benefit at all. When he assessed me, i literally felt like he was assessing an obese person (by the way,I am 5' 4" and weigh 117 lbs). he then took me to a coordinator who tried to convince me to take a $2500 package on top of my monthly membership to get a personal trainer if i want to see results. So yes, the personal assessment at extreme fitness is just a scam to make you feel worse about yourself and convince you to get a trainer who i believe is not even specialized in personal training.
I am still going to the gym. i try to educate myself more on working out and try to do it on my own but here i am stuck in a year membership that i got for the wrong reasons. I hope i will get resutls from my workouts but I will never renew my membership with them ever again.

Thanx for your daily emails and tips, they are really helpful.

HI Conor,

Just wanted to tell you I really enjoyed reading your articles every day. Yes, I read them all. I figured if you were going to write them an impart some insight, knowledge, tips, advice and funny videos the least I could do is read them.

Thanks for taking the time to make a difference and trying to change habits and attitudes. Because of reading your article on intensity I now workout with more intensity and it's making a difference.

Have the best day!!
